headline in tonight's "Manchester!" informs me that quarter of million quid has been sehlled out on a "passenger waiting environment" in Manchester.
This state of the art bus shelter has CCTV to film you as you wait for the bus...is 15 yardss from the actual bus stop - so you get wet when you walk to bus ...

and it is near to the bus station as well... and people can wait under cover at the Eccles Interchange...
On the other hand - you can be surveyed whilst you wait, sit down and have sufficient lighting to read the "M.E.N"
Bemused passengers are amazed - "Yet to see anyone use it" and "Total wast of money" "Spend it on punctual buses"
"If you sit in the shelter - driver does not see you and does not stop!"
like this one- it amused me
[i[]sort of defeats the object here of getting me out of Jag and onto bus [/i]
""250.000 on seats, fluorescent lighting. perch seating? Where'e the gold it's embossed wi' then?"
Just a few of the comments in the paper .. it has amused me... though I'd share with the safepseed world at large...
JJ... quick - it's vandal proof ... go place some of your posters there.... It's OK - no-one will read them....

But on the other hand - they will be lit up in the shelter - if you made them a little more interesting with a bit more relevance... who knows?
