Dear doubters,
you have probably looked through the safespeed website and have now decided to visit the forum, register and vent your anger about how we should all rigidly stick to speed limits at all times, how wrong we all are and are nothing but speed freaks, well, consider this:
From my own personal experience (and once being a doubter) i gradually absorbed all the material from safespeed and came to the conclusion that nobody in their right mind is going to commit so much of their own time and effort to write all the letters to various bodies, give public presentations, create a huge website with so much factual information and set up a forum that is becoming quite popular just for the good of their health!
So, if in doubt try and see it from the other side, yes it is so hard to argue against the so called "safety element" of cameras but remember things that are usually too good to be true are just that!
We all want to ultimately save lives on the roads and at present this is not happening due to an over reliance on "safety cameras". Remember they do not detect drunk, drug, tailgating, dangerous manouveres, reversing/driving up hard shoulder, road rage, excessive speed for conditions, dangerous parking, jumping traffic lights, bald tyres, inoperative lights, tired/wandering drivers and all the rest therefore we are targeting most of the road safety money at the smallest problem with regard to road safety and that is exceeding a posted speed limit.
Regards
Andrew
