I don't expect replies but you may just be glad you quickly checked-in.

I don't sleep well at the best of times but fret not - I have the answer although you will have to paypal £10 to me

I fitted my bedroom with a £17 combi light fan. On the lowest speed it's pretty quiet and I had the best night's sleep in a long time.

And to those wot have already got one but are sick of the noise?

You can change the resonance and make things better by doing what I believe they do in my second home, California, by putting some weight on the joist, (Bricks, slabs etc.)

See! Bet you're glad I'm here now? :bunker:

Do they come with a round tuit?

If not then the heatwave will be long over (and no doubt we will be up to our knees in snow) before it gets fitted.

I've been doing big deliveries all week, have pity on me!

On Monday was digging out two huge pots in an indoor swimming pool area; we were going outside to cool off, believe it or not...

I used to run my ceiling fan even in winter to equalise the temperature in the room - no point in having hot air trapped up around the ceiling!

I did manage to unbalance mine by repeatedly wacking it with objects when i forgot it was there! It ended up nearly shaking the house down :)

It is amazing the difference a bit of air movement can do for comfort when you consider its just blowing hot air around! Cheaper to buy and run than air con and just think of the favours you are doing to the environment  Or maybe you should go for the aircon option to give us a hot summer next year too! :bunker:

:D Okay, now you've set me off..

So I went to the doctor with my sleeping problem and he said "just lie near the edge of the bed, you'll soon drop off" :D

Must get a Tommy Cooper one in: I slept like a log last night, woke up in the fireplace this morning. :D

When I die I want to go peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not like the 3 other screaming passengers in his car. :D

Okay, I've run out now. Cue Looney Tunes melody...

Now chez botach is even older than me (and no It's not a cave),with lots of gaps around the tiles and no felt -so at this time of year I open the loft hatch and let the hot air rise -any passing breeze helps it out .

Well for the 6 days of our summer I tried to enjoy every minute, but like you chaps it was hard to even want to work ! Now back to 12-20 degrees again ! Be grateful for the sunshine though ! :D The dogs have been thrown into a molt !
I can always hope for warmer weather ! :)
However the sun is extremely hot when it shows it 'yellow face'. I have a few air conditioning units up here - shame I have such a cool place that I don't need them ! :) (at the moment) Mind when it was warm it was super ! My office was a lovely 79 degrees :)
