Just returned from a rushed trip to the highlands and hopefully my next trip will be more leisurely, last trip was about 6 hours with breaks.(Dad seriously ill, recovering in hospital)

I'm hoping and praying that in the very near future I do not require this info (in case i have to make a fast trip )---but if I do ,then I'd like to travel prepared.

Know about the antics on bridges at the top end of the M6, AND M74/M74.

Have looked at the Scottish pratnership sites ---

Glasgow has some easily spotted fixed Gatsos.
From Glasgow 50 limit (A82 near Sainsbury's) to Crainlarich (on A82)( 30 and at times that's way too fast in village) - nothing on Scottish camera sites.
Tyndrum has the usual "there's cash in them there hills" signs (camera warning signs , (near the green wellie shop) )
Then till Bridge of Orchy - nothing, till White Corries/Kingshouse Hotel area .(catch the skier area)
After that nothing to past Fort William.
Then i've got to get up to Inverness.
Got the usual - Invergarry/INVERMORRISTON/DRUMNADROCHIT.

So a mammoth drive , especially if I have got to hurry .

Anyone know of any other sites - M6/A/M/74/A82 .
Don't expect to be going fast enough/daft enough to upset BIB( in normal circumstances), but our cash hungry friends (SCP)are always eager to cash in on blips.

Any help appreciated - no offer(serious) turned down or made fun of.

Are you going that way for a reason?

If you don't need to be calling at Fort William then isn't it easier/shorter/quicker (but more boring) to take the A9?

Using the excellent drag and drop route planner on Google maps suggests about 18 miles saved and about an hour quicker by going M74, M73, A80, M80, M9, A9.

The Fort William route looks shorter if you are looking at an overall map of Scotland but it has lots of little twists and turns. The A9 is mainly long sweeping curves and does have some DC.

Sorry for long delay - been ultra busy with lots of other things.
Several reasons -but the ultimate one is that my first port of call is father's house in Fort William, so no real alternative - as any other route would mean crossing over to east coast to go up A9 then crossing over to RoyBridge, and having driven the last bit from Glasgow to Fort William(A82) more times than i care to remember over the past 40 years ,there's not a lot of surprises left on that road .
So any info on hideouts for vans welcome.
