I didn't realise I have to host another comp if I won - dammit, it's kinda like Eurovision :D Anyway, here's mine:

Using the previous rules: 'Best caption as of Wednesday (21st) evening gets to find a pic of their own and so it goes on ' - and I'm the judge!

Joking aside, just how did that bloke lift one side of the thing high enough to put his timbers in?

The methods I can think of don't seem to be 'handy':

- block and tackle to an overhead lifting point
- loads of blokes
- specialist air bag
- jack and block, jack and block

Two 12' scaffolding poles and 3 or four strong men.
You are only tipping it, not lifting it. There is a commercial system available for tipping cars on their side to work on them, which can be operated single handed and without any external power other than the operator.

Back in the 50's my parents were driving in yugoslavia and suffererd a split tank. And yes the local garage welded it. The trick (alledgedly) is to make sure the tank is full with no airspace to hold a potentially explosive air/fuel mixture! Dont think I would want to try it myself though

Dusty, brings back the day of doing my safety quals, upper and lower exlplosive limits of various fuels (liquid and gas). Like you though, still not sure I'd want to do it....

Yep, seen it done with a motorcycle tank, which had a leaky seam at the bottom.

1. Fill with fuel.
2. Set light to the fuel as it dribbles out so's it can't accumulate
3. Weld up seam.
4. When welding is complete the fire goes out.

As noted earlier, petrol itself isn't that much of a hazard, it's the explosive risk caused by the fumes accumulating in an enclosed space that you have to watch out for.
