They've suddenly done a U turn from what I'm reading on the Beeb website.

Notice when it comes to things generally regarded as 'important green issues' they're generally things only, lets say, the lower classes have to contend with, e.g. recycling our waste, driving ourselves to work etc.

But wait, when it comes to green measures on long haul flights, something of which Blair regularly does when on vacation in some celebrities home he immediately announces them as impractical, useless and boring.

The "greens" were incensed..........great. Their relentless media onslaught just makes me want to puke. The media have a lot to answer for giving them a platform to pedal their new age socialist cobblers. I read something to day about the "shame of Britain" for its carbon emissions and how bad it was that only 1% of the population had "green" new years resolutions.

Blair has actually shown some backbone and honesty for the first time in years. And good luck to him on that one.

It's because he's on his way out, he doesn't care about upsetting the loony lefties and hurting them with some truth.

About time too. If the rest of the world can see it happening, why can't Europe. The 'green' movement have too much say and not enough knowledge, cherry-picking statistics to fit their sad little views.
Alas, they have the ear of The Blair Witch whose syphillitic views of the crime of possession, indoctrinated in her by her ghastly apology of a father, have lead to the many 'jealousy taxes' we are having to pay.

I am reading Boris Johnson's 'Have I Got Views For You' at the moment and, love him or hate him, he is a very astute judge of character. His opinion is that Brown, as leader, will start to take the country forward economically rather than taxing it into stagnation as Blair would have. His assertion that Brown has the brains, whilst Blair has the teeth has a ring of truth about it.

I hope he is correct...

At the heart of the escalating confrontation lies Europe's Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and mounting concerns about its prospective failure. The crisis centres on a fundamental conflict between economic realism and environmental idealism, between national interest and green ideology. It has exposed the increasing tension between Europe's green enthusiasm and the realization that its unilateral framework comes at a hefty cost that is beginning to erode the economic stability of a waning continent.

That is why Bush would not sign Kyoto. Looks like he was right!
