Yes, I've toiled long enough at the old car face not to want to do it again.

Far be it from me to stifle discussion, but I think I've settled on a Renault Clio Trophy now, but thanks for all the ideas!

Excuse the bouncing of a very old thread, but after 3.5 years of very happy ownership, the Clio Trophy I settled on after this discussion is up for sale, as the replacement is arriving shortly.

Is it worth mentioning your record low fuel consumption from "enthusiastic" driving, which provoked a bout of sanctimonious handwringing in another place? :twisted:

One of a culmination of little incidents that put me off said 'other place'.

Joking apart, I've left the trip computer to do its thing for a couple of years and recorded a long term MPG of 30.5, which isn't that bad considering the kind of car it is and the kinds of roads it gets used on.

Suspect I'll be very happy (and surprised) with 25mpg in the new baby.
