Hey, CO you're QUOTING splendidly!! :D

A question.

If you join a main road, and it has a fixed camera on it, shouldn't the exit from the side road have a camera warning sign, just as it would have a speed limit lolipop if the side road was a different speed?

If it didn't have such a warning, and the driver received a NIP because he was unaware of the camera, should he protest, or just pay up?
A while back I encountered a junction where the lollipops were staggered - ie not on opposite sides of the road, but several yards apart. The limit sign is easily missed if a vehicle is passing the other way, as your attention is given to safely passing it in a narrow stretch.

Any thoughts?

was the side road a primary or secondary road,

Secondary.

I think most of us know when we are in a 30 zone; its the ridiculous 40's and 50's scattered around the countryside that catch us out, (not to mention insult our judgement of what is a sensible speed), but how many of these rural roads are littered with lamp posts that youre idea could use.

I certainly dont want more roadside furniture to avoid if I ever depart my bike, especially not at the speeds i do :)

does yellow street furniture work in southampton? too early to tell!

However with zero policing on bikes on pavements, they will get run over in the shopping arcade first!

“It has never been the rule in this country – I hope it never will be - that suspected criminal offences must automatically be the subject of prosecution” He added that there should be a prosecution: “wherever it appears that the offence or the circumstances of its commission is or are of such a character that a prosecution in respect thereof is required in the public interest”
This approach has been endorsed by Attorney General ever since 1951. CPS Code
