It is usally the panda cars, on the roads in birmingham that do the tailgating.

It was a panda car that I came across and overtook. If it had been a "proper" traffic car I probably would have held back a bit. But then again, maybe not :roll:

It would be nice to get an opinion from some of the coppers that post on this forum. Why do police cars so often dawdle along (particularly on motorways) just under the speed limit and how do they view those that overtake them?
:?:

Not on here but on pistonheads this question has come up. The reason the traf pol travel under the speed limit (even if just) is so people will overtake and they do not become a rolling roadblock. The Traf Pol in South Wales appear (IME) to travel around the 65mph mark to encourage overtaking even more.

The problem we have is non-traf pol marked cars doing 75 - these are a nightmare.

Cheers

Paul

Driving home last night I pulled off the M4 to go along the newly speed camera enforced Coychurch Bypass.

witnessed a panda go round the first roundabout, no indicating, cut accross three lanes, no indicating he proceeded to continue along the main streatch at no less than 60mph (50 limit). pulled into right hand lane, no indicating all but cut me up. then two more roundabouts in a similar fashion.

cowboys!

Someone needs to tell them it doesn't ****** well work!

They need to travel at about 55 if they want people to pass, not the usual 65 which with speedo inaccuracy on a lot of cars is a whisker from an indicated 70.

Now years ago (according to an old mag) police chiefs hit on this idea of a fast response vehicle( based on ford transit) with a large number of occupants. Name--- Fast Action Response Transit/Transport.

Then some very/very /very junior recruit reminded the CC of the ideas brigade that the initials spelt "FART",possibly after the nickname of the CC involved. So that idea was shelved, and replaced.

Now i've come up with an idea of the name behind "PANDA"

P = POSITIVELY
A= ANNOYING
N= NURD
D= DEVOID
A= ANY COMON SENSE(when driving)

Trafpols (especially) are invited to give their interpretation

nevermind overtaking the cops, what if you just kept up? Imagine there after some bad guys hurtling through the countryside at breakneck speed and there you are right with 'em. great fun. Would they stop and issue you with a court summons, or would they be too busy?
