It's all rubbish. I've never found it makes any difference.

Anyway, I'm not generally in the car when speaking to attractive ladies!

The main benefit I have found is that you can generally get away with parking right outside the door of a lot of fancy hotels without them asking you to move as you are "lowering the tone". :)
