Mood tends to designate what one's chooses, and then, as you choose that too, influences the next choice, and the memory kicks in with 'Oh, remember this 'one', as you choose the next 'notes' ... and so on ...
We used to select one or three at a time, from a very wide ranging selection. We used to have 'driving' music and then that too has moods of it's own.
Since this seems to be general music then anything from Pretenders, Corrs, Eric Clapton, Travelling Wilburys, Yes, Genesis, Supertramp, Holst, and so on ..... about 350 artists to choose from... I often hear of more artists that I like and think that I must buy an album or two at some point ...
Must say I like hearing music on good speakers with as close to original balance as possible listening to all the music qualities ...

However I often use the MP3 player in the car and jog from album to album when it seems wrong, or I listen to t$he radio !
