In fact, Mrs Theboy and I refer to crewcab 4x4s as "Fat Thugs", as that's usually a good description of the driver too.

Based on experience, close proximity to these make me very wary of idiotic manoevres:

Mk 1 Mondeo
206's (CC's especially)
Golf Plus
Yaris Verso
Picassos (the egg-shaped contraptions)
Hyundai / Kia / Proton / Perodua, and all variations thereof
Mk 1 Corsas (especially with dull, faded red paintwork)
Suzuki Altos
Honda Civics (Type R's excepted of course)
E36 3-Series Beemers
Mk IV Golf TDi's
Micras ('natch)

That'll do for now :bighand:

The Mk1 Mondeo must be worth about 50p by now, since there's millions of them out there and while they have no redeeming features, there is nothing particularly wrong with them either (unless fitted with a heated front windscreen), so they're just a generic cheap car for someone who doesn't want, or can't afford, a nicer car.

Cars like that you can't really pigeonhole while I'm sure plenty of pikey will buy them, so will anyone else who is in the market for a cheap car.

Today I've been driving my old man's BMW 1-Series.

My God, do people treat you like sh1t! I think they assume you're going to be an @rse and treat you accordingly. "Ah, here comes a Baby Beemer, I better pull out on them/tailgate them/cut them up etc." The first couple of incidents I put down to coincidence, but it just went on and on.

Still, nice car...

hey, steady on now!

While out in mine on Sunday, the only 2 cars I saw broken down were a new Disco and I was following an old disco that made what appeared to be a well rehearsed dive for the hard shoulder :lol:
