there was a time once logged in the yellow unread post maker disappeared, how do i reactivate this facility or can i just flag posts that i have replied in

I can see nothing in the control panel about this - did it not change along with the forum software?

I just click the link which says "view new posts" which is up on the right above the "all times are UTC" notification message.
If there are any you have not read, they will be above the posts in the list displayed - or may even BE in the list displayed.

I think if you just go to the 'view new posts', as Ernest Marsh suggested, is going to work for you. At the same time, I believe most of the new topics will be on top of the page, as well as having a little yellow page, showing that there are new posts in there. I'm not sure how exactly you flagged them before, but surely you can remember which ones you posted in and thus be able to see the new ones that you haven't posted in. Don't know if that really makes sense :oops: Hope it helped. :D

It did change as part of the software upgrade a couple of years ago, but the general view is that it is an improvement as you don't lose the unread status when you log out.

To get rid of the unread markers, simply go to "Board index" and click on "Mark forums read" at the top right.
