Just a question really. If I copy Smilies to another site, am I breaking SafeSpeed rules? I might have already done so by the time the admins view this, as I'm 7 hours in front, so I'll give you my apologies in advance.

By the way HAPPY NEW YEAR to EVERYONE.

Take care all
Dixie and Anne

I think all the smilies are either standard phpBB ones or have been borrowed from other sites, so I can't see any copyright issues arising.

Happy New Year anyway :drink:

Yep the smilies are not owned by SS in any way - and we can vary them so we can throw some out and have others and so on ... have had 'fun' trying to add new one's however ... must look at that again.

My request would be the getmecoat smilie from PH. I love that one!

I have had trouble adding one - but can replace one .... what is one that you don't like if you had to see one or more 'go' ?

Now that InGear is retired the popcorn smilie is redundant :D

We have three different gatsos being burned, which could be considered overkill?

I don't think I've ever seen the Jack in the Box used. (I just know someone's going to prove me wrong :D )

This may be an unpopular, but true, suggestion but what about a 5 and 10 version of this :20:

:bunker:

Hey - it's only a question of time

What's that saying about many a truth... :yikes:

To add a new one you need to upload it to the relevant directory:

Code:
http://www.safespeed.org.uk/forum/images/smilies/

and then link it through the Admin Control Panel.

Smilies are very much a matter of personal taste and so any two people are unlikely to agree on the ideal set. At one point Paul did a major revamp of the smilies - some of those he added were great, but in one or two cases he replaced the standard phpBB ones with ones I didn't feel were as good.

Ah yes I like that one as well; first saw it only a few months ago.

It made me think about a similar thing used during the intervals on BBC2 back in the 60s when they used either a potters wheel or a windmill. :cloud9:

I use it at work all the time :) I don't know if I speak for toltec but think of Ollie from Oliver and Hardy.

I need a link, maybe a utube of him doing that expression and the word "Dowhh", when you are so utterly, totally and completely exasperated about the situation.

That probably made no sense at all but it did inside my head :D

Was I close Toltec? :)

Looking for a link now....
