This evening of the 10th Nov 09 - the forums 'crashed' the software apparently causing the memory to 'run out' and so the forum stopped !
The servers are reset and so the forum is now backup and running thankfully.

I am looking at upgrading an important software update that I have missed doing.

My sincere apologies everyone, so sorry for any inconvenience experienced.

The website has been down (loading extremely slowly) since early this morning (17th Feb 10).

We don't yet know the reason why, but it seems to be OK now.
We're trying to find out why this happened.
Our apologies for any inconvenience.

My apologies that the website and forum were down for approx 21 hrs.
It seems that the host thought that they had not received payment. This was resolved and the hosting resumed.
I am taking steps to ensure this should not happen again.

There was a technical issue with the site for a period today (27th May 2010) - :

Report PostQuote Post -
We had a significant network outage this morning that lasted around 90 minutes (6:50AM to 8:20AM Pacific time, GMT -7:00).
It took us longer than expected to track down the issue because it was a rather obscure cause.
We traced to root of the issue to a switch that had failed in such a way that it caused an overload on our other switches' CPUs.
We've taken the faulty switch offline and will replace it soon.
In the meantime, service has been restored.

We are sorry if anyone was inconvenienced in any way.

Never noticed , and if down - we put up with it - you do a great job with minimal resources . One question - when do you sleep ?

Congrats Claire .

Well thank you - Appreciated :)
Sleep - yeah do about 6 hrs a night (ish) and then the odd cap nap usually, but if there is something on it tends to be a lot less sleep and a catch up later another day ... :)
Did Talk sport once til 4am and I was running on about 4 hrs from the previous 2 days ! Had driven south overnight as I recall and been too busy to sleep the following night. Funny what you can do when you have to ! Motivation is a great thing.

From about 3am there was a storm which 'upset' the main servers, and although a reset saw most services back up within about 20-30 minutes, it seems that Virgin links took nearly an hour to function properly again.
The service is now up and running again now. (Just linked back in but I lost various posts sadly!)

The forum was down from early this morning to late this afternoon (13th Feb 12).

The website went down because the web server was not replying to requests; all was OK after it was reset.

Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Website and Forum were down this morning due to a router error upwards of the hosts. Once fixed and tested things are now back up and running.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Edited to Add more info :

Beginning at 12:57AM and ending at approximately 5:35AM Pacific time (GMT -7:00), April 7, 2012, our upstream provider experienced a network outage that prevented access to our network.

Initially, they believed the problem to be failed hardware, but further troubleshooting revealed that there were two separate routers in their network that reloaded repeatedly for as long as they were in receipt of a full BGP routing table.

They have subsequently reduced the BGP routing table used by those routers to just their peers, internal routes, and a default route. With a small reconfiguration on our end, we were able to get our network back online after they made that change.

They are still trying to determine the exact cause of the problem so that they can put in place a permanent solution, but we are up and running in the meantime.

Please accept our apologies for this outage and the extended duration.
