Hi all,

The Safe Speed web site is now sporting a snazzy (?) new front page with drop down menus for navigation. It's all a bit new and I've made it live before it's really ready because I'm determined to pick up new users from the 12 million story and I judge the incomplete new system to be superior to the overbloated old one.

Hopefully the menus and the page layout will settle over the next 24 hours or so. In the meantime please report anything that doesn't work.

Enjoy exploring the web site all over again!

First impression: very professional; busy, but full of good content.

The menu-stuff works well and has an attractive interface, however I find the actual menu bar titles a bit confusing...
e.g.1 Understanding / Communicating / Helping
e.g.2 Issues / News
... you have to look at the content of these menus before you can see what they relate to - not necessarily a bad thing, I suppose, but the titles could be a little clearer.
e.g. Helping -> Support SafeSpeed,
Understanding -> Background
Issues -> Campaign issues
News -> Press
... for instance.

Conclusion: I like it, 8/10 :thumbsup:

Safe Speed is a serious road safety campaign. After over 5,000 of research analysing and understanding how road safety works, we're certain that present policy is making the roads more dangerous. Start with the 'understanding' menu above if you're new to Safe Speed.

Just a small Typo

It's good but very busy, less is more!

Other than that, good effort.

The initial impression is of a great improvement.

However the thought occurs that as the page is dependent on drop-down menus it might cause problems for people with disabilities or those with older browsers. Would it be possible to have a link to a plain vanilla HTML equivalent of the menus?

I've also often thought it would be useful to have a complete index, with brief descriptions of all the pages on the site somewhere within it.

Yeah, great minds... I'm working on a 'site map' based on the master file that generates the menus.

You should see the pile of stuff I've already thrown out! :hehe:

But I know you're right and I'll continue to tweak.
