I decided to purchase the Tom Tom 720 and will try it soon on a trip to Birmingham. That should give it a good workout

Well, I thank everyone for their advice and though it has been hard not to worry, I have not received a NIP in the post.
I have updated my gps to the Tom Tom 720 though and will try my best to retain my clean driving record.

| Prof Beard, On the TomTom GPS unit, will it tell you if you go over speed whatever the posted speed limit is. i.e., 30mph in towns and 40/50/60/70 on other roads? On my old Navman gps I have I can only set a limit which won't reflect the actual speed limit of the area I am driving through. I wouldn'... |

It's great to know that there are people who will take the time to help.
I will let you know whether I hear anything.
It was suggested that if I hadn't heard anything within a couple of weeks that I should be ok. Is this likely to be correct??

| I know that there are gps units that will tell your speed and even warn if exceeded at a speed camera. But are there any units that will notify you if the speed limit is exceeded wherever I am driving? I would like to be able to concentrate on my driving and not on the speedometer.
