Heads Up Displays might someday do away with the driver's portion of the instrument panel, which will then be broadcast on the windshield, keeping the driver's eyes on the road where they belong. . The problem with HUDs on windscreens is that your eyes still have to change focus from distance to cl...

Paul agreed with me but then added in his reply to me/us, (and I so wish I could find that thread now but I'll have to paraphrase), 'the hand is closer to the brain than the foot and can react much quicker" Just another of so many gems from Paul's wealth of knowledge :) Nerd mode ON :f...

The point is of course largely academic, since a partnership wouldn't 'enforce' at these times because of the sparse financial pickings on offer. The 'target market' appears to be during the school runs, and to ensnare unwitting tourists. Also, a bit off topic, but does seek to make my point. Have ...

Or at night in the pouring rain when the lasers don't work  TO clarify my opinion. Heavy rain would introduce large errors into the speed calculation and reduce the range/accuracy significantly. Just look at the effect rain has on normal light. Day or Night means nothing to the laser but at n...

They do enforce the A12. As usual is the straightest, widest bits that get the attention. If you want to speed just pick a narrow, bendy section and you won't get caught

I didn't know about the campaign either and I live in Suffolk! They keep parking the camera van on the three lane section of the A14 near Newmarket. It's not surprising that they catch more people if they choose the straightest, widest bit of road in Suffolk. Also at the stretch of 50 Mph Dual carr...

I have noticed in various magazies / forums the view that putting both feet down when stopped is a cardinal sin

Can someone explain whats the problem ?

I have long enough legs that I can put both feet flat on the floor and hold the bike still even on noticable slopes without using the brakes.

I resisted to ask them what the heck they actually did do then because I may need them in future :P The difference is - Electrical thick wires. Electronics ...

This morning while I was doing my usual 160 mile commute I noticed that the vast majority of drivers on the M11/M25 & M3 were being very observant and getting out of my way .

Thanks guys It made for a smooth and relaxing ride even in the rain. :)

On an empty road middle lane hogs arn't really much of a problem , with that much notice you can do a safe smooth overtake via L3 with minimal steering input .

Of course I might mutter a few words in their direction as I pass

In fact you CAN hear someone speeding - Doppler shift is one way, or perfect pitch and knowledge of final drive ratio and which gear another. The doppler shift method requires neither perfect pitch (just an approximation will do) nor knowledge of gears. I can elucidate if required. OK Nerd head on ...
