Why stop at car cams? What about pedestrian cams, cyclecams, pramcams, lollipop lady cams, shop assistant cams, traincams, planecams and buscams? Great! All that lovely evidence. Now, all we will need is a massive increase in police numbers to sift all this evidence and visit offenders. These extra ...

I suspect that the six months wasn't for speeding - it was for perjury! Whatever, there is currently a shortage of psychiatric nurses in the Plymouth area, so the Crown Court's decision not only affects the nurse, it might have dire effects on the community. I wonder how many EMI patients and other...

Surely the same congestion reducing effect could be achieved by making fuel tanks smaller (say 2 gallons or less even) and changing the price of fuel dynamically depending on the congestion in that area at that moment in time. I'm not advocating that system necessarily, I just thought of it; I'm jus...

That is a bit petty isn't it? Ling might not agree with you, but does she deserve to be the subject o... |

The term 'slip road' actually predates motorways and referred originally to a local bypass. The term comes from a definition of slip - move easily, smoothly, unencumbered. There are many roads in the UK named Slip Rd as a result.

My speedo has been intermittent for more than 2 years, mostly not working. I have had no problems in doing without. Sometimes when going through a camera site I get a little anxious, but otherwise I look at my dash so rarely it might as well not be there. I don't dawdle about at 25 just to be safe (...
