As for accuracy... I saw one go off because a stationary bus happened to be near it. Yeah, apprently vibrating surfaces can skew the speed readings hugely. And we all know buses rattle like hell! I heard a story about an old black cab that broke the land speed record (according to the camera anyway...

My brother wet through a Gatso at 35mph in a 30mph zone yesterday. Now as it was an extremely sunny day, he doesnt know if he was flashed. Could he get prosecuted for this? He says he was at 30mph before the end of the white road markings.

The lines were painted on over the weekend, so I'm sure I wont get a ticket now. Or if i do, it won't be valid as they can't double check the speed. =D

Yep I stopped and checked it this morning. It says GATSO on it, it's definately a GATSO. So with that in mind, a GATSO can't catch me if it has no road markings can it?

Yes I've just passed it again and I'm 90% sure it's a Gatso. When I pass it in the morning I'm going to park up and confirm it. Their are definately no markings on the road. Their are no road works near the camera either, but it was only erected in the past 7 days - which is why i suspect I may have...

I think that's an excellent point. And as for including a brief riding lesson into the driving test... I say any additional experience is priceless. But is is viable to teach everyone who wishes to drive a car to drive a motorbike also. Unless it's changed and becomes compulsory to cover both types ...

Thanks for the advice. I've been over to PePiPoo and found the PACE defence, but what actually is it? I don't think I understand it correctly! Can anyone explain it in laymans terms please? Thanks in advance.

Yeah I guess so, I've gotta sweat it out twice now!
Anyway, back to my first post.
The speed camera is definately a Gatso, but has no road markings! |

Well I think I have the worst luck in the world. I took my normal route to work and was thinking about my potential 3pts... Then i realise what's down the road... a mobile speed camera van. I was doing 40 max, but it was a 30 zone (i think). So now i've either got 3 or 6pts... I've gone from a clean...

I think they are superimposed aferwards ? But dont they use the road markings to judge your speed? I always thought they needed those markings to work out your exact speed. I'm praying and hoping the camera wasnt fully operational as the markings were't present. I'll be passing it again shortly so ...

Hi guys, Can speed cameras without road markings still catch me if I'm over the limit? It was a new static gatso, which was erected on my route to work. I think I was possibly flashed on the first day it was places, but their are no road markings? Can I still get caught? It was definately turned on ...
