Over the past year or so i've noticed there are more and more people who seem to drive at below the posted speed limit where on rural roads, in my opinion, it is perfectly safe to go faster. I can KIND of understand people driving at the posted speed limit, in some way. If a person feels that breaki...

Hi All, i'm 24 and have been riding for 2 1/2 years now. Although i can only afford an old Yamaha XJ600, i ride it all weather, doing a 100 mile a day commute, which equates to 24k a year just going to work and back! Am looking for a new(er) bike, but alas, the government have taken so much of my mo...

I can't believe i am having to defend myself for these comments! I just want to clarify, it was in no way intended to be racist. I was merely pointing it out for the reason said earlier, that it was relevant to the story later on. I have no experience of any "close nit communties" as such,...

He was turning right onto a side road when a motorbike coming the other way hit my mates car. Sounds like your mate was completely at fault. That was my initial reaction. being a biker myself i would say the same thing, but reading into it further the bike should not have even been on the road. plu...

In my eyes, the cyclist should not have been there. Therefore, she should have been prosecuted for using her mobile as any other person should be, but not death by dangerous driving. On a slight tangent to the above, the reasoning behind my thoughts is something I’ve mentioned before. My friend kill...

you think maybe they do it just to spend their budget? The reason i think this is because near my parents house about 15 miles away, 1/2 a mile down a 1 miles country B road, there is a sign on the verge that warns pedestrians that there is no footpath! It is truly unbelieveable, because the pedestr...

I live in a small village in North Yorkshire, and every morning and night i pass a school in the middle of the village, situated on the inside right of a T junction There is a 20 limit outside the school with road humps, which is fair enough, even though at the times of day i drive past the school t...

Actually, i am inclined to agree. people do slow down to ridiculously low speeds when there is no need. Don't get me wrong, if someone sees a potential hazard, and they feel the most appropriate course of action is to slow down in anticipation, then fair enough, but as mentioned in another thread on...

tailgating has the opposite effect on me. i slow down to piss them off  Hmm, see i remember reading a few weeks back on here that a few people were arguing that drivers's shouldn't police one another by slowing down on purpose when a car behind wanted to get past. It may have been in relation ...

Just driving down the M18 from the M62, as i do every morning and night, and have noticed the bright yellow poles that usually have average speed cameras attached to them! There are going to be some road works lasting 6 months on a 3 mile stretch of the motorway just after it starts at the M62. Traf...

it's a lot of the local residents that want the measures put in anyway. god knows why! It just makes no sense. I can see their point though. there is a school halfway through the village, but the time of the day when most kids are around it's single lane traffic anyway due to all the mothers in thei...

Relatively new to posting on the website, but have read it many many times. I want to write to my LA with regards to something in our local parish council newsletter. Apparently they are looking at introducing traffic calming measures in my village. In the 13 years i have lived there i have known of...

Hi guys, i'm new to this forum, but i thought i'd throw my 2p in here. My mate was in a similar situation, except he was driving the car. He is a biker too, and a member of IAM. But a young asian guy was riding an un-road worthy bike at 40mph in a 30mph, without a helmet, high on drugs, and no brake...
