Noticed this today as I was checking another case:

Good to see an acknowledgement that pedestrians have responsibilities too.

No, parking lights is the first position of the lights switch - although many, many drivers insist on driving with only these lights on :D

And a lot of these with foglights too... :banghead:

- Is their training and experience really good enough to deliver safe behaviour in motorway situations? Personally I don't think it is. Given the number of times I've seen their range rovers parked on the hard shoulder with the front end pointing towards to motorway and the wheels turned to the rig...

They are telling the traffic to stop, but they're not old enough to hold even a provisonal licence and were barely in control of there animals. Surely they should have to be supervised by an adult. They didn't seem to like being followed by a tractor and trailer and a Honda VTR 1000 SP2 with Akrapo...

Well, some extreme vegetarians/vegans to put their dogs and cats on a vegetarian diet. Apparently a dog can cope with it, just about, but a cat's metabolism is different and it's a death sentence :neko: Cats do just fine - they'll go out and find themselves something that squeaks or chirps and make...

Hm.

I guess it's ok to travel at 60 on a NSL B-road during rush hour in freezing fog, then. There I was thinking that it might be a good idea to slow down...

What could be easier than taking a photocopy of the licence. Why should I sacrifice my privacy for the sake of "ease of admin" I have found that is you are honnest with your employees they will probably be honest with you. If you don't have that your business is going down the pan. With s...

Gizmo, As I said, the primary reson for adopting this approach is actually ease of administration, rather than actually trying to catch anybody out (although that's what most people fixate on!). According to the HSE, licences have to be checked - there's no getting around that. Would you object on t...

I have a company car. They take a photo copy of it every year...thats all the need to do.. If they gave me a consent form to sign I would refuse. They have not right to access that information. This smacks of lack of trust in the honesty of their employees. That is control freak stuff. I wou...

I asked this question because I run risk management programmes for company car and van fleets - we do a comprehensive risk assessment which includes licence checking as one element. We then look at the full picture (type of car, mileage, age, location, accident history, points, etc) and put drivers ...

Another rider here! This thread has made very interesting reading - it reflects what I see practically every time I ride on the road. You have the rider who says "It's my right to be here, and to hell with everybody else", the rider who is careful and courteous to other road users, the dri...

Interested to hear peoples' thoughts on this. Scenario: Your job involves driving, and your company gives you a car/car allowance. They say that they need to check your driving licence for duty of care reasons, and ask you to complete a form giving your permission for them to get your licence detail...

It probably sounds cruel but until it is noted on accident reports if the driver(s) involved where on comapny business it doesn't stand a cat in hell's chance, a few deaths would also help. Neither the HSE or Police see it as 'their' problem !! First post, so be gentle! :) Since late 2004, traffic ...

Just googled my own name and found this (egotistical of me, I know!)

I'm still around, a lone voice in the wilderness, trying to keep my head while all around me are losing theirs... :D
