One day people will stop making excuses for the bad apples out there and something will get done about them. All I see here are certain members trying to promote their ability to drive defensively to the extreme. Would you be willing to put yourself into a barrier at 70mph to avoid mr prat? We all, ...

I never said anything about teaching them a lesson, I had cameras on sliproads in mind so that people 'know' big brother is watching and a prosecution will follow in the post for your earlier bad driving should you choose to drive like said prat. More police patrols as opposed to Traffic officers (p...

But here's the important part - when you have neutralised someone else's bad driving once more - DON'T think 'look at that prat' instead give yourself a pat on the back for turning it into nothing at all. It's better psychology. It helps you to drive (even) better (by positive reinforcement). It he...

Can I try make this as simple as it really is? Simple, given all the possible permutations of junction layout, main carriageway traffic densities/speeds, slip-road traffic densities/speeds, and performance of your vehicle??? I can join the motorway in my car without causing a pile up or without cau...

Can I try make this as simple as it really is? I can join the motorway in my car without causing a pile up or without causing anyone to have to move over or adjust their speed. I can also join the motorway in my truck without causing a pile up, simply by observing the traffic flow and volumes whilst...

Well mannered people with a little brain will. People without brains won't. Simple enough. I didn't even imply that I did not have to adjust my speed: I did, and this guy basically decided stop me from joining the motorway. So we are no longer arguing over who has right of way and the correct proce...

I agree totally with bobthedog. He obviously knows what he is talking about unlike the other muppets in this thread. Why should I defend my driving abilities against someone who makes up his own interpretation of the highway code? I have held a licence for 17 years, 12 as an LGV class 1 driver on ni...

Please tell me you are not one of those idiots that do not allow vehicles to merge, or even worse, stops at the end of the slip road! The vehicle on the slip road has to adjust his speed, but the vehicles on the motorway have to adjust their speed too. You are still making up your own rules. I am n...

Of course, you have to rely upon the fact that those on the (i.e.) motorway know they should slow down and let you merge. This is one of the reasons I stopped visiting this forum. Everyone seems to interpret the rules in a way to suit themselves. If they read the text as it is actually printed then...

It's all well and good driving defensively and reading the other drivers minds, but when are people going to start taking responsibility for their own driving? If we carry on compensating for other drivers mistakes then how are they to know that they are driving in a dangerous manner? It's all well ...

Hi Scanny77, As a fellow truck driver I agree with your actions and would only differ in one way, I'd have driven over the rear car...lol. Nah, It does not matter what you say or what evasive action you take, you will always get someone telling you that you should have done it differently. This some...
