| Right, just called the DVLA and after a marathon automated response selection I can confirm that it still is 6 points and not three. Dunno why they said 3 :? The dilema now is whether to tell her its 6 or 3 :) We had a heated discussion as to whether it was 3 or 6 before, but she might be a bit more... |

| Wouldnt it be better if the guy is banned feom driving? 27 mph over the limit would see a ban of 2-4 weeks would it not? | IMHO dont bother with the autotrader website. I had some very good quotes on some companies on that site, had to call up and "confirm" my details and was without exception told my premium would be a LOT more than what the web site was quoting, (up to 500 quid more) All of this with exactly the same ... |

| Thats what she reckons anyway. Ive tried a search on the net and all I can come up with is the 6 points thing that Ive mentioned coming into affect in 1995 for all new drivers. Nothing about the 3 points. Think its a bit unfair for a new driver to be banned on 3 points if indeed it is now the case. ... |

| My g/f just passed her test last week. She was told by the examiner that if she collected 3 points in the first 2 years of driving she would lose her license have to apply for her test again. I thought it was 6 points in 2 years, but apparently they have changed it. This was confirmed by her driving... |
