Although women found the flashy guys more desirable for a date, the man with the Porsche was not preferred as a marriage partner. Women inferred from a man's flashy spending that he was interested in uncommitted sex.

Most men I know would view this as the perfect outcome :D

Since its introduction I think I have only used that M4 section once (when it was empty). However I do remember that during my commute there were daily traffic reports for weeks after that had traffic backing up onto the M25 (which it was implied they didn't before introduction). This slowly improve...

By car 35 mins By Bicycle 45 mins Car died and some scroats nicked my bicycles so: By train/bus (via central London) theoretical 90 mins best achieved time 135 mins By Bus theoretic...

I don't know anything about Sweden's roads, or if it was a camera, but this is almost certainly a fair cop. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-10960230 Although the local police are clearly on message "It's not controllable" - a clear falsehood as in the right conditions (racetrack) pe...

One of our resident cameraphiles quite often spouts more BS than comes out of the rear of Daisy( yer average friesian) , but on this subject I would tend to believe him when he says that these sprays just don't work . They certainly wouldn't admit it worked at all even if it sometimes worked. Going...

The new unit is clearly a flash unit.

I would say it is to combat flash back caused by sprays such as this one:

http://www.phantomplate.com/

by changing the angle there will no longer be a reflection in the direction of the camera.

I believe the second flash may be to combat products such as this one:

Once the camera and flash are seperated there will be no bright flash reflection and hecnce your number plate will be completely visible.

Return to mean: 2008 19 2007 12 2006 17 2005 17 2004 18 I couldn't find any earlier figures however with such a small sample you would have to use a rolling average of several years to gauge the result of any "improvements". Since around mid-late 2006 there has been significant increase in...

Around 7-14 days later they post a request for the money and withhold the evidence to back it up. Your position is likely to be hopelessly weak as you may not even know if you past the speed trap in question on that day. You are threatened with the full weight of the state to impose extra costs and ...

In 1986 there were 107,600 motorists convicted of careless driving but by 2006 this had fallen by more than 75 per cent to only 25,400. "The level of enforcement is steadily dropping," the Government noted in the consultation paper. This, it is believed, has resulted in an increasing numb...

7% drop? So that'll be about the rate at which they had HAD been dropping for many years before the introduction of cameras and this current passion for over-zealous automated enforcement! Which considering 2007 marked the year in which they stopped ramping up the number of cameras then the underly...

Take a look at this roundabout , can you see the tongue of tarmac on its southern entrance extending from a flower bed done to a keep left bollard in the hatched area? This road divider has a raised kerb, though obviously you cannot see it. This roundabout was installed somewhere around 1986. At th...

Our nationwide spying system brings in about £120million a year in fines but costs over £90million to run. So who benefits? Only the jobsworths. This is not quite the whole truth as getting the points will increase your insurance premium despite little or no increased risk, hence the insurance comp...

Flying is pretty safe its the take off and landing that's generally a bit dodgy. So if you only do short haul this is particularly risky.

If you don't believe that flying is a bit iffy get a life insurance quote and then see what happens when you phone back and say your a pilot.

I have in the lasts few months travelled anticlockwise at around 02:00 to find the signs on the approach to the M4 junction showing 50 despite there only being a dozen or so vehicles visible front and behind on both carriage ways. Is this just a revenue earning scam? Worse still on one occasion (ver...

The A68 is a fabulous scenic road which as many excellent safe opportunities to pass the many lorries that use this road (it's significantly shorter than the A1 hence all the lorries). The website was only registered on 6th November 2007. I doubt the website, successful license applications and testimonials could be achieved in 19 days. So personally I would suspect it is a 400 Euro (& ID theft) scam. It is possible they have operated without a website, however the whois addre...
