- ** It’s not about getting people to obey the speed limit , that’s the job of the police. Our job is to try and prevent needless death and injury on the roads. We do that by identifying the worst casualty/fatal crash “black spots” and installing cameras at them, in order to encourage motorists to ...

14wheels, I would edit your post and remove the reference number to your NIP. That’s if you don’t want the wrong people to know who you are.

It's not his NIP, look at the link at the top of his post.

Questions are sometimes raised about the suitability—the legality, even—of some of the locations where mobile safety camera patrols are parked. The Partnership identifies each location to central Government for approval, and once approval for the site is given, the area is surveyed for the best park...

If I were to telephone and report a motorist for using a mobile at the wheel, with time place and reg. number, what would be the chances of getting the case to court, or a conviction? Presumably the phone log, and the cell records would verify my witness statement. The only defence might be a claim...

Q. Upon noting a SPECS gantry in the distance and realising that it may be the second one not the first, how slow should one go to ensure one doesn't get a ticket? That's an easy one: Turn round promptly using the handbrake race up the hard shoulder untill u see the first camera turn around and sta...

You find that on the Iberian Peninsular as well. When I was in the Costa Brava this light always went red just as I approached it. ...

That's a different isue though isn't it? We now need to know why the lights are going to red when there are no pedestrians. Are they really? Anyone know what Police force area we're talking about? Yes really pretty much all of the lights in south gloucestershire now do this, we even have full time ...

Think about it from the council's point of view. Pedestrians are dying despite the provision of a foot bridge. Because of 'human behaviour' the footbridge may be seen as the wrong safety solution. I don't much disagree with their point of view. Good road safety policies recognise real human behavio...

"Why not fit vehicles with speed limiters? Only HGVs, buses and coaches are fitted with maximum speed limiters, and these do not work at urban speeds where most casualties occur .
