To the left and right it was a wooded area with substantial trees and rough ground just off the edge of the road. No fields or gates at all. No chance of going to the right because of the cars. Going further to the left there was a good chance I would have lost control of the car. If the oncoming ca...

Went for a drive in the countryside a couple of days ago and had an exciting few seconds. Was driving through a village at 25-30 as appropriate and was caught by a tailgater. Slowed down a bit but he took no notice so I continued as there was nowhere to let him past. At the end of the village there ...

"So it isn't the 'senses' that are working better than we think - it's the entire perception system." Yes and No. On at least one occasion I reckon it was only my hearing that triggerred the warning - though I'm not sure how considering I was inside a car, on a B road, and all the windows closed. I ...

Normally driving along dual carriageways and motorways you have enough time to observe driving styles (front and rear) and decide 'no problem' or 'got to watch that one'. However, on other occasions, you make a seemingly instant decision. On this occasion I was driving along a dual carriageway at 70...

Thanks for the comments and replies; very interesting. So basically, provided there is no obvious problem with the video, then I'm deemed guilty almost regardless of any proof of innocence I present. A human operator - fallible Camera electronics - can produce spurious results Camera software - neve...

Having just received a NIP :x it has been brought home to me that I have absolutely no defence against it (apart from lying, cheating, or technical faults) even if I sincerely believe the NIP is wrong. So, how can I defend myself in the future. The only way I can think of is to constantly record my ...

Thanks for the replies. Yes - Pepipoo is where I have looked. I hesitate to write too much detail as you never know who is reading this. I missed the smiley after the third question. I got the photograph back and while it may be possible for me to decide who is driving there is just no way a third p...

:hoppingmad: Hopping mad not so much at being 'caught' but that I have no way of contradicting the so called evidence. I've never even been stopped by the police before. I was apparently clocked at 43 (an indicated 45-46) in a 30 :yikes: !!!. This was at the 'Crooked Billet' on the A30 just after th...
