prolly never giving a lot of gap form the mirrors of other cars when passing by

i judge a line to miss the mirrors, + a leeway - but the leeway is never a lot, maybe 1 foot maximum - if someone opens a door, its all over :D

I made this video when I visited Eastbourne earlier this year in August - I went to see the annual 'Airbourne' show. It was great fun and some fantastic displays from various aircraft. Had this one display where two girls were actually on top of a small airplane and waving to the visitors - apparent...

While we are on the subject of high speed motorway driving - I think I should show you guys this website http://www.e31.net/index.html It's not a plug, just a relevant example - but chose the language and then click videos, and take some time to look at the various motorway videos done by this guy d...

I drive a lot through the Woodford area in North London, and there is a particular stretch just after you pass the A406 that is 30mph, but I know there aren't any GATSO, the road is wide and visibility is good and you would easily see plod if they were waiting What I have noticed are three lines in ...

Well isn't everyone insured on the Motor insurance database - so I suppose even if it's pay as you go, your name will be on it for the vehicle

how can you possibly argue this? Either it is dangerous to exceed the speed limit or it isn't. If anything having your screaming wife with you or feeling under pressure to get to a dying patient would make any 'speeding' more dangerous. Sorry, I think that's a foolish approach because most of us kn...

However, raising the limit on motorways above the current 70mph has been ruled out. Government research is said to indicate such an increase would lead to more accidents. Disappointed with that comment- the Mway 70mph limit is probably the most inappropriate of them all given the engineering style ...

I havn't seen a posting for this, so I'm guessing you folks have not heard about it. My father (is Daddy spelt farther or father? :D ) works along the A5 (Edgware road) and some stretches have long bus lanes and plenty of small entrances, and he told me about this guy (is the caretaker for the shop ...

For instance I can't get a 3rd party extension on my car insturance to allow me to drive other vehicles, so even though I drive a group 10 turbo diesel I can't drive my partner's group 7. Try Norwich Union or C.I.S, they both offer an any car extension to ALL policies regardless of age or policy ty...

Tea Belly (what a funny name  ) pretty much sums it up Besides, if young drivers are so incompetent, why not up the ante in the driving test for anyone under the age of say, 21 - or just don't give them a license - or take the license away if caught speeding (which is what they do if you get 6 ...

The answer was apparently b. I got this wrong. I usually increase my braking distance to the car in front straight away but maintain a safe speed, waiting for an opportunity to let the tailgater past. Answer (b) seems to suggest creating an even angrier tailgater by slowing down to an inappropriate...

I did reply pointing out insurance companies really didn't agree. .... Well it's pretty obvious why insurance companies wouldn't agree, the fortune they make off "young driver"/"inexperienced driver"/"new driver" policies are ridiculous- Insurance, for the young or new drivers mainly, is becoming m...

Do you think if everyone drove to the standards required to pass the DSA Driving Test (or Motorcycle test) - then we'd have a significantly reduced rate of accidents? Nooope! And technically impossible unless everyone did the driving test again, because the standards were different 20-30 years ago,...

Hi Tc, I'm very familiar with the stretch of road, in fact I use the Shell petrol station on Wick Rd. for my Optimax stuff It can be chaos when traffic volumes are high, and it usually always is on that stretch of road - the 40mph limit is ridiculous, but well sign posted, with an endless array of G...

Well, I don't think it's fair to bash Dan on the 94-in-60 by claiming it's a p*ss-take, not until you've seen the road condition on a quiet day

If both sides of the road were clear, good surface, and fairly straight, I'd say 94 was too slow - try 110  jk

I can sympathise with you on the downhill-creep, especially if the road had 'NSL' engineering and traffic volume was low, then it's very easy to creep to those speeds while making use of the space - The limits may be unrealistic but Ian is right, you might not like them, but don't just ignore them a...
