trucks are not like cars with regards to them all looking the same. the average trucker will look at a truck and instantly know the make and model. I'm sorry but :rotfl: This obviously works in both directions  Most car drivers will not have the faintest idea on distinguishing between the vari...

To the original list I would add: Improve visibility at Junctions. - I'm increasingly seeing road furniture in places that I'm sure is intended to stop traffic by reducing visibility. It may be intended to improve safety (by slowing everyone to walking speed) but I believe it to be counter productiv...

At what age did houses start being built with cavities?
Mine was built around 1914 (ish) and I'm not sure whether it has cavities or not. |

Both of mine have a rainbow sticker on the no. plate and a pistonheads sticker on the bumper's black rubbing strip. The TVR additionally has a TVRCC sticker in front of the rear view mirror and a '500 Taraka' sticker on the no. plate, but you have to be virtually crouching behind the car to read that.

I agree. In my last job, my boss sent out the latest HR missive concerning mobiles (before it became illegal), saying don't make calls while driving, don't answer calls if at all possible while driving etc. 2 weeks later same boss rang me while driving... I ignored it until I got home 10mins later a...

So the PC head of the dept head for PCness in a PC council may be disciplined (no doubt in a PC manner) because the PC dept. issued a document about being PC, but not calling it PCness, and he was unPC enough to describe said PC document as being 'over zealous'.

This partly why I feel limiting vehicles speeds is ridiculous, e.g If someone is driving at 69mph, I prefer to overtake quickly and safely, I would not drive past at 70mph taking a while to over take holding up faster traffic behind, I would pull out accelerate past, pull in and reduce speed to the...

Pirelli on most of my previous cars and my current Mondeo have been fine; the TVR has Toyo Proxes on the rear which are great and I've had Yokohama (A570s?) on a Prelude which had brilliant wet weather grip.

The results speak for themselves - in 2001 no fewer than 7721 people were killed on the roads in France (more than double the UK death rate). By 2005 this figure had fallen to 4900, and the decline continues. We have achieved the same (and better) in the UK so far If we have achieved the same or be...

I've had 3 tyres put on my co. mondeo today due to uneven tyre wear that the garage said is caused by speed bumps knocking the tracking out on an increasing number of cars. It's going in on Wednesday for a full 4 wheel alignment to get it sorted.

Hi all, I thought they usually had to be either stood in front or behind of you as you go past, so as to calculate your speed? normally, yes, as the instruments need this in order to be able to work effectively. Wouldn't they more likely wait down a sidestreet and pull out behind you if you are spe...

Diesels will also accelerate slower to 60 because of the gearing meaning an extra change is required; this also affects times for 30-70, for example. I find that diesels regain the advantage in the 20mph increments despite taller gearing; plus as revs are mid range rather than closing on the redline...

If they drive at night, they are still insured, but get charged £25 for EACH time they drive at night. I wonder how they woul... |
